24.10.2016 – Photographer Slawomir Plata voluntarily visited and photographed most of Enfants du Monde's projects in Latin America, West Africa, and South Asia.
Twenty black and white photos showing his travels will be exhibited at the Photobastei 2.0 gallery in Zurich's town centre from the 27th of October until the 11th of November 2016. The photos depict children, mothers, and families benefitting from Enfants du Monde's education and health projects, as well as the populations that follow and pass on the lifestyle of their ancestors. The images do not appeal to pity, nor aim at documenting the poverty, but show communities in their everyday life following the traditions of their ancestors.
Photobastei, Sihlquai 125 (3rd floor, Room 1) Zurich.
Opening hours: Tues-Wed 12-9pm; Thurs-Sat 12pm-12am. Sun 12-6pm.
