Partnership with Filmar

14.11.2012 - Enfants du Monde is a partner of the Filmar Latin American film festival which is being held in Geneva from 17 November to 2 December. Festival-goers will be able to gain an insight into our work by watching a promotional feature by Enfants du Monde before their film begins. In addition, we will take part in a round table on the health of mothers and babies during the screening of “Nacer”, the documentary by Colombian film director Jorge Caballero.

“Nacer: Diario de Maternidad” (Birth - Maternity Journal) follows women about to give birth in the public hospitals of Bogotá, Colombia. What we are being shown here is not merely the delivery of babies, but tiny fragments of people’s lives. While the institutional environment makes us realise how mundane are the happy events taking place within it, this documentary is so richly detailed and so accurately observed that, in spite of the adverse conditions, we are reminded of the fragility and beauty of life.
