05.22.2012 - Guatemala - Ismael Quib Che, aged 19, wants to become a forest engineer:

"Here, in Guatemala, people think that country people are not very smart and they can't learn well. But's the educational system that's wrong and doesn't let them progress. When I started school, I would never imagined that I would get to this level. The thruth is that we've all succeeded and graduated wishing to continue our studies. My dream is to finish my training as rural technician and follow through to become a forest engineer. This way, I could put my knowledge at the service of my community and of Xch’ool Ixim association, supported by Enfants du Monde in Switzerland, that helped enormously our education."
