“I didn't have the chance to go to school”
09.05.2012 - Selima lives in Mohammadpur, a poor distric of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, with her two children and her husband. The family lives in a modest dwelling of five square metres. The district inhabitants share a kitchen and few toilets.
As many women of her generation, Selima can't read and write. “I didn't have the chance to go to school”. Thus, when her girl was old enough to go to school, Selima made her mind and registered her in the school supported by Enfants du Monde in Mohammadpur.
“I would like my girl to build her future. I think that school is a great opportunity for her. She wants to be a policewoman and I support her desire.”
