Creating perspectives for life: mother and child health
11.06.2012 - Medicus Mundi Switzerland (MMS), to which Enfants du Monde belongs, is a network of Swiss organisations working collaboratively in the field of international health. The MMS symposium will take place on Tuesday 6 November.
On this occasion, our Bangladesh coordinator, Muzahid Ali, will present the preliminary results of an investigation into the health project that Enfants du Monde is running with its local partners in the Netrokona district in northern Bangladesh.
In this impoverished region, medical centres do exist, but they are practically inaccessible because they are so far away, the roads are in poor repair and there is a lack of public transport. Working alongside its local partner, and the Ministry of Health, Enfants du Monde is helping to reduce the mortality rate among pregnant women and babies by raising the population’s awareness and improving the quality and accessibility of health care.
