A song for education
11.08.2012 - Over 800 French-speaking Swiss students participated in the “Song for Education” project. The goal of the project was to raise awareness to the fact that 69 million children worldwide remain unable to attend school.
“It is a project in which children are the direct actors. They were able to contribute to a change in the status quo by writing and performing songs as well as by creating music videos, on the importance of education and on the lack of accessibility to basic quality education,” explains Yannick Cochand, project supervisor.
The best productions will be presented by the students at a public concert:
20th of November at 6:30 p.m. atPalladium (Rue du Stand 3) in Geneva; admission 10 CHF, free for those under 16 years of age. The proceeds of the concert will go to an Enfants du Monde education project in Burkina Faso.
Seeing the great success of this initiative, Enfants du Monde will continue this project next year. 17 classes have already registered to participate in “A Song for Education”.
