01.06.2011 - In Burkina Faso, West Africa, over 50% children don't go to school. In order to increase access to school and the quality of schooling, the State supports classic school systems but also « alternative » school which develop innovative teaching techniques. One of these alternative and innovative programs has been implemented by Enfants du Monde and its local partners, for several years now. These schools offer 4 years of basic and high quality schooling to under-priviledged children who have never been to school or who have had to leave school early. These children will then have the opportunity to reintegrate a classic school or benefit from professional training.

At the end of November 2010, the cooperation between Enfants du Monde and the Ministry of Education, and the efforts of Enfants du Monde and its local partners to improve the education situation in Burkina Faso, were officially recognized. In an agreement protocol, the Ministry of Basic Education and Literacy, recognizes the commitment of Enfants du Monde and confirms its participation in the effort to offer innovative and high quality education. This protocol will the dialogue and collaboration easier between Enfants du Monde, its partner organsiations and the Ministry.
