03.10.2010 - The Pan American Health Organization has rewarded the maternal and newborn health program supported by Enfants du Monde, ranking it among the three best programs in the Pan American area.

The partners taking part in this program, i.e. the Salvadorian Ministry of health and the local organization Concertación Educativa de El Salvador, have received a 5,000 dollar prize. This health program was rewarded for its action in the field of teenage, maternal and newborn health.

For three years, Enfants du Monde and its partners have been improving health services while offering health classes to pregnant women, their families and communities. This program helps 16 particularly underprivileged districts.

The prize will help spreading the lessons drawn from this health program to other countries. On March 12th 2010, the program will be presented at the Pan American Health Organization headquarters in Washington.
